Cabo de San Antonio is situated at the west end of Cuba, about 220 miles - 354 km west from Havana. Cuban Trogon Bird Watching  Peninsula de Guanahacabibes is among the best palaces for bird watching tourism in Cuba.
If you do decide to go bird watching, you can expect to see wonderfully colourful and in some cases, rare birds. People report seeing varieties of birds as varied as parrots, fly catchers, king fishers, flamingos and hawks.
You should definitely look out for the smallest in the world Bee Hummingbird, its wings flap so fast that they are invisible to the human eye. You should also try to catch a glimpse of the Cuban Trogon "Tocororo" national bird of Cuba, because of its red white and blue feathers, correspond with the colours on the Cuban flag.

Peninsula de Guanahacabibes, is the most important bird migration corridor of Cuba, the high number of birds that arrive here each year. In their route from North to South of the American continent and in the opposite direction, the birds take refuge this land of Cuban coast, birds originating from U.S. and Canada are more abundant.
These birds are in most cases of small size and diverse colors; in Guanahacabibes occupy all the vegetable mosaic, since they inhabit temporarily in forests, mangrove swamps, in the flora of marsh and in the vegetation of the coast.

The primary bird watching location in the west of Cuba is the Peninsula de Guanahacabibes in Pinar del Rio and Zapata Peninsula at the south coast, and Maria La Gorda. Also the end east of Cuba, the Sierra Masetra National Park is an excellent spot for birds watching activities.
